Forgotten Coast Adventures - Charter Fishing

Winter on the Forgotten Coast

Posted by: Capt. Mark on 02/16/2011

I was showing a friend around the area last week. She’s from up north, spending a few months down here to escape the snow. While I thought the weather was chilly and a little dreary, it was such fun to see her eyes light up at the waves and sandy beaches, the shrimps boat in Apalachicola, and the Spanish Moss hanging from the bare trees.

It made me realize something about my Forgotten Coast home…it is truly beautiful here, any time of year. The winter gives us time to regroup and get ready for a new charter fishing season on St. Joe Bay. So while we wait for the sun, we dream of the sunny days, the big tarpon coming out of the flats. I’m ready to start taking reservations for some juicy spring fishing. What kind of fish are you dreaming of?
