Forgotten Coast Adventures - Charter Fishing

Fishing Report

Posted by: Capt. Mark on 02/16/2011

One of the positive reports that have come into the store this past week was about some good red fishing going on in the Apalachicola area. Reds can be caught on tide change in Sykes Cut. A Carolina rig using live or fresh cut bait works. Smaller reds are biting good in river holes, and sheephead are being caught there also. Trout fishing is closed in February, so it is strictly catch and release. At this time fish deep and slow!

Speaking as a conservationist, with trout being out of season, remember how fragile trout are, and take steps to return them to the water in as good a condition as possible.
